Happy New Year to everybody out there! We passed it in Cuzco, although with no TV to watch the ball drop on, we may have celebrated a few minutes off. The pouring rain kept us inside and the cold kept us under our covers, so it was a calm and quiet one for us here. Resolutions of less overanalyzing have already been made and broken. But you can’t go wrong starting a new year by hiking the Inca Trail, which we start bright and early tomorrow morning. Since we haven’t had time to line up posts while we’re out, you’ll just have to manage without us till we get back January 6th.
While we’re gone, we’d love to hear how friends and family rang in the new year. We wish all of you a happy and prosperous new year!
Happy New Year, both of you. I hope 2009 brings you great adventures.
You are doing right now what we just got done doing: hosting someone in Peru for 10 days in the exact same places. Staying inside was the right choice for New Years. There were a lot of drunk people setting off large fireworks in crowds of people. Laws are not so strict there…
My good friends are also doing the Inca trail about this time. Did you happen to have two sisters, Kara & Andrea, from NY/OH in your group? BTW, this is my first time commenting but I’ve been following your blog now since August. I really enjoy it and amazed at your travels!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I’m sure it will be an exciting year for both of you!
happy new year!
happy new year you two!!!! enjoy the company (hi to your brother)! and hiking that amazing trail. i’m soooooo jealous!
my mom & i stayed in and watched made of honor… it was what you’d expect, nothing to write about. i’m not a huge fan of new years; too much pressure. remember that year we spent nye at bbc & we both got slapped or slapped the boys (can’t remember the details)???? i’ve told bryan that i’d rather be camping every year from now on out. that’s the only way to bring in the new year 🙂 two years ago we were in death valley for 5 days & it was awesome.
miss you!
